Our Story

Located in the Marina de Vilamoura, on the south coast of

Portugal, Vilamoura Sailing Centre has become one of the

world’s leading references in dinghy sailing. Founded in

2017, it is now recognized as the largest dinghy sailing cen-

ter in the world, attracting thousands of sailors and coach-

es who seek exceptional training and racing conditions.

Vilamoura Sailing Centre hosts a continuous calendar of

major international events, including Olympic qualification

regattas and World Sailing ranking events, reinforcing its

reputation as a premier global stage for high-performance

sailing.

Supported by the Prow Group—experts in international

sports event management—Vilamoura Sailing Centre con-

tinues to raise the bar, offering a unique, professional, and

inspiring environment for sailors from all over the world.

At the Youth Sailing World Championships, sustainability is an integral part of how we plan, organise and deliver the event.

In the previous edition, we proudly achieved Platinum Certification — the highest distinction awarded by Sailors for the Sea’s Clean Regattas programme — recognising our commitment to responsible event management and sustainable practices.

Building on this achievement, we continue to focus on reducing our environmental footprint, using resources responsibly, engaging local communities and creating a positive impact that extends beyond the championship.

Please click on the link on the Media Accreditation page and complete the form to request media accreditation for the Youth Sailing World Championships 2026 in Vilamoura, Portugal.
